This is just what Ive been looking for. It is almost exactly like "The Beginning Runners Handbook" walk/run program by The Sport Medicine Council of B.C.but this is so fantastic because it tells you when to walk and run instead of trying to hear the beep on your programmed wristwatch. Big Plus is using my own music. I have done the Podcast for Runners by Robert Ullrey which is also great but the techno music is not for everyone. Just a great app for the beginning (or returning) runner.
I really enjoy this program. It has a slower pace than programs I have used in the past, which I appreciate since I just had a baby. It uses approxiamately the same amount of time per run throughout the 13 weeks. Overall it is a good program that will help you reach your goals.
I cant belive I can run for an hour (or more) without stopping. This app really works. Add your determination and this apps easy to follow work outs and you can do it too!!! I highly, highly reccommend it!!!
Great app, great app to use to stay motivated.
The music stops every minute so if you need music this app is useless.
Im in my late 30s, a good 20lb overweight, and used to think 400m was a long distance run when I was at school. Now Im in week 4 of this programme, and I have already managed a 5k - something I never imagined Id do even a month ago. The app itself is beautifully designed, even though it spends most of its time running in your pocket. The beeps and voice cues are great for nudging you out of your current zone and into the next, and playing music from inside the app works great. If youre a non-runner, and you want to get started but dont know how, this app will get you going steadily.
At 63 years old, I thought I would not be running again, but the easy to use couch to 10K got me back on my feet. Its like having my own personal trainer with fraction of the price. I could not have done it without it. Thank you.
Just pick your music, start the app, and DO THE WORK!...No need to stress over time and intervals...Love it!
I am 26 years old and want to get into better shape. Just had my first run yesterday. Very user friendly interface; I just started my jogging playlist and clicked start run.
I decided to do this so my dog would get lots of exercise as well. When I first started I thought it would be impossible but I am now on Week 9 Day 3, further than I ever thought Id get!
Im on week 11 now and I can run 10k without much problem. I even skip walking quite often now because I just feel like running and because I can. At the begining I could barely run 500m non stop. I lost 15 pounds and still going strong, thank you for this amazing app !
Week 8 and loving it!
Just finished week 1 and so far the app is super easy to use. Im having no prob with my music (re:previous reviewer). It would be nice to have an optional lap counter to help keep track of distance when running on a track.
I never thought I could run long distances. Heck when I started this I was using an inhaler and thought there was no way I could even run 1K, but now I dont need an inhaler and Im running 10k three times a week on a regular basis. I would not have been able to do this without the app :)
I have the 5K app from the same company and LOVED IT. I tried a different 10K app and was just not happy with it so decided to give this 10K app a try. Unfortunately I am not happy at all. The app is really glitchy and the settings button does not work :( Please fix it and bring it up to the standards of the 5K app ASAP!
Started this program in January and ran a 10k in 1:15 last weekend! Highly recommend!
Hard to imagine after running 10km and doing it three times a week now, that only thirteen weeks ago I was struggling with a interval run of around one minute and loving those walk intervals The App does a nice job of ramping the difficulty up and at times it felt like the next run would be beyond my limits, but each milestone was overcome and left me feeling exhausted but happy I would easily recommend this App to anyone who might enjoy running but cant seem to get motivated, running can be difficult to begin but its definitely rewarding when you finish Make sure your iPhone is not on silent mode before beginning otherwise you will miss the prompts during your workout The stretches provided are a good addition, as a novice I found them excellent and have found my overall flexibility improving What else can I say "It Works"
I have had this app for over a year and love it. It is well paced (never felt knee pain) and the updates have been perfect. I cant believe I can run as much as I do! I love being able to see how far I have run, and at what speed. It is great.
I am completely disappointed. I have been using this app for two years now and it was perfect. I did not have GPS capability as my Ipod touch 4th generation would have needed wifi access. Nowit does not work unless you can support ios 7.1. I can not find an app I like for my runs to build up to the 10K or more and I am stuck just listening to music. Very disappointed in these changes. I would not purchase from this company again as I am now left with nothing.
